MBBS costs Rs 50k annually in Govt colleges, Rs 5.50 lakh in pvt ones

DME Chhattisgarh released annual fee structures decided by the State Fee Regulatory Committee for MBBS and BDS courses in Government and private medical dental colleges of the State

Directorate of Medical Education (DME) has released annual fee structure for MBBS and BDS courses of government medical/dental colleges as well as private colleges in the State.


According to DME, Rs 40,000 educational fees per annum and Rs 10,000 other fees have been fixed for pursuing MBBS course in government medical colleges such as Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College (Raipur), Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) Bilaspur, Shri Baliram Kashyap Memorial Medical College (Jagdalpur), Shri Lakhiram Agrawal Memorial Medical College (Raigarh) and Government Medical College (Rajnandgaon).

However, the educational fees and caution money per annum at Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College (Durg) will be Rs 5,18,500 and Rs 20,000 respectively which is 10 times the fees of government college. Same fee structure is applicable in case of seats being allotted to any candidates under management quota while fees for NRI candidates have been fixed at USD 29,500 per annum.Annual educational fees for BDS course at Government Dental College (Raipur) will beRs 20,500 while other fees will be Rs 1,600 (CG Board) and Rs 1,900 (Other Board). On the other hand, fees in the private colleges are 10 times the fees of government colleges. Rs 2,01,700 will be charged for BDS course at Chhattisgarh Dental College and Research Institute (Rajnandgaon), Rs 1,93,700 at Rungta College of Dental Science and Research Centre (Bhilai), Rs 1,89,700 at Maîtri College of Dental Science and Research Centre (Bhilai), Rs 1,83,700 at Triveni Institute of Dental Science (Bilaspur) and Rs 1,83,700 fees will be taken for BDS at New Horizon Dental College and Research Institute (Bilaspur). Similarly, BDS annual fees at the abovementioned five private colleges under the management quota will be Rs 2,01,700, Rs 1,93,700, Rs 1,89,700, Rs 1,83,700 and Rs 1,83,700 respectively. The DME also made it clear that the institute will decide the hostel, mess and transport fees and these are nothing to do with the educational fees decided by the State Fee Regulatory Committee.
