Meeting held to discuss law and order during Kanwar Yatra

A combined meeting of police and district administration was organised with representatives of Kanwar Yatra Samitis at police control room, on Thursday. The meeting was organised with an aim to maintain law and order arrangements during Kanwar Yatra and Shahi Sawari Yatra.
The meeting was organised on the direction of Collector, Mahesh Chandra Choudhary and Superintendent of Police, Dr Mahendra Singh Sikarwar.

Additional Collector, Chhotey Singh and Additional Superintendent of Police (East), Guru Prasad Parashar chaired the meeting while Additional SP (West), Yangchen Dolkar Bhutia, Additional SP (North), Sanjeev Kumar Uikay, Additional SP (Traffic), Sandeep Mishra, CSPs and SHOs of all the police stations and around 40 representatives of religious committees attended the meeting.

During the meeting, administrative and police officers sought information from representatives of religious committees about necessary arrangements for fluent operation of Kanwar Yatras. Senior officers instructed the members of organising committees for ensuring implementation of orders of Madhya Pradesh High Court and taking prior permission before two days of their respective events. Representatives were informed that the use of DJ will be completely prohibited during religious procession or any other event and only two sound boxes will be permitted. Officers assured them of maintaining law and order arrangements.
