2 drug peddlers held, cannabis seized

Shahjehanabad police recovered 55.3 kg of cannabis worth Rs 2.5 lakh from their possession

Shahjehanabad police have nabbed two drug peddlers near Bhoot Bangla and recovered 55.3 kg of cannabis worth Rs 2.5 lakh from their possession on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off regarding drug peddlers, a police team rushed to the spot and detained two miscreants and when they were searched, cannabis was found from their possession.

The two were identified as Sanju Sankat (33) and Satish Gohar (45). Sanju is a resident of Itwara, while Satish hails from Indore and is presently living in Itwara area. Police have information of large scale circulation of cannabis and other drugs in Itwara area during the investigation of drug peddlers
after drug peddlers were nabbed with good amount of drugs and investigation was conducted in the area in the month of May, but failed and based on the information, investigation was carried out, resulting in the arrest of the two drug peddlers.

The details of the network would be investigated in the further investigation. Police said that crime record of the two would be investigated and links of Satish in Indore would be explored.

Meanwhile, after recovery of 1 kg of drugs from a woman worth Rs 50,000 on Saturday, Teelajamalpura police have also nabbed another drug peddler (accomplice of held woman) and recovered 1 kg cannabis from his possession on Sunday. Based on the information on the accused drug peddler woman Pinki (23), wife of Sohanlal Meshkar, a resident of Gautam Nagar, her aide was nabbed by Teelajamalpura police from Kabeetpura area and cannabis worth Rs 50,000 was recovered from his possession. The nabbed accused was identified as Shahid alias Bablu alias Kanpuriya, who used to provide Pinki with drugs for delivery.
