Heavy rainfall warning in many parts

Heavy rainfall warning has been issued by the Weather Department for the next twenty-four hours at isolated places over Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur and Dindori districts.


A spell of rain showers was witnessed on Sunday morning in almost entire Madhya Pradesh .It has brought down the maximum temperature in the entire State. Khajuraho recorded highest with 11.6 mm rainfall followed by Bhopal with witnessed 8.4 mm rainfall in the region. With 2.3 mm rainfall recorded in Indore city, the temperature dipped to 2 degrees below normal temperature and remained at 28.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Minimum temperature recorded was 22.2, which was one degree below the normal. Bhopal recorded 31.9 degrees Celsius, which was two degrees above the normal and minimum was at 23.6 degrees Celsius, which was one degree below the normal.


As per Weather Department, rain and thunder shower are likely at most places in Jabalpur division except Katni district, Hoshangabad division, Dindori, Annuppur, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Alirajpur and Badwani districts. Many places over rest of Indore division Raisen, Vidisha, Ashoknagar, Damoh, Sagar, Katni, Umaria, Shahdol districts are also likely to witness heavy downpour. Temperatures in the four main cities- Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur ranged between 31.9 and 22.2 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperature at Gwalior was recorded at 26.5 (+1) degrees Celsius, while maximum remained at 38.4 (+5) degrees Celsius. In Jabalpur, minimum and maximum temperatures were respectively recorded at 24.7 (+1) and 27.4 (-4) degrees Celsius. Khajuraho recorded 34.9 degrees Celsius and minimum at 26.1 degrees Celsius.
