“MADHYA Pradesh Gau Samvardhan Board has been constituted by Madhya Pradesh Government. The Board has been constituted comprising eight departments. Earlier, the Board was named Madhya Pradesh Gau Palan Evam Pashudhan Samvardhan Board now its name has been changed in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Madhya Pradesh Gau Samvardhan Board,” informed Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri Ji, Chairman of MP Gau Samvardhan Board, Madhya Pradesh, while addressing a press conference on Sunday.


Swami Akhileshwaranand Ji informed that the Board has been constituted comprising stake of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary, Forest Department, Rural Development, Civil Administration, Agriculture Department, Home Department, Power Development Corporation and State Agriculture Marketing Federation. The Board runs round 664 registered Gaushalas in which over 1.41 lakh bovines are protected. In Agra Malwa district the Government to Kamdhenu Gauabhyaran (Cow-Century) in Salaria in Malwa district.


A cow sanctuary will be developed on 2,000 acre land. With numerous facilities for research and development including 24 cow sheds, 85 cubic meter 4 gobar gas plant, 3 big buildings and 1 research building, one training building and one production centre. Besides residential quarters
or officials and employees will be constructed. Swami Ji informed that in this meeting it has been decided to develop Gauvansh Vanya Vihar on 20 acres to 100 acres of land, Gauthan Vyastha in villages to provide shelter at night, Madhya Pradesh Gauchar Bhumi Vikas Mission will be constituted in State in order to protect grazing land notified for animal fodder production.

In October and November month, a two-day convention of scientists working in home and abroad on cow will be organised. Besides this, a workshop of Gaushala related office-bearers, volunteers will be organised every year. Fresh guidelines for registration of gaushala were also issued. Also, students pursuing education in veterinary sciences and animal husbandry from Madhya Pradesh Veterinary University will be given special scholarship and financial assistance on development of enterprises like manufacturing of Panchgavyya, indigenous varieties of India, organic manure, organic pest control method, etc.
