GST will simplify tax procedures: Ahirkar

NAG Vidarbha Tea Merchant Association recently organised a workshop on Goods and Services Tax (GST) to update its members and provide detailed information regarding the new tax regime.

The workshop was conducted at Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC), Civil Lines. Anil Ahirkar, President of Nag Vidarbha Tea Merchants Association conducted the proceedings of the meeting. Shambhu Tekariwal, Secretary welcomed the guests.

The workshop was inaugurated by the chief guest CA Kirti Agrawal. She gave detailed inputs about GST and its important provisions to the tea merchants. A question and answer session was also conducted inwhich she satisfied all the queries of the tea merchants.

Welcoming the GST roll out by the Government, Ahirkar said, “GST will simplify tax procedures for tea merchants”.
He said that earlier tea merchants had to pay 6 per cent VAT and 2 per cent Central Excise. While dispatching tea to other states tea merchants had to fill up F form and C form. With the introduction of GST earlier taxes will get subsumed and would not be applicable anymore, he added.

On the occasion, present were Prakash Medhadia, President of NVCC, Jaiprakash Parekh, Secretary and Sunil Punyani.

Rajeev Javeri, Vice-President of Nag Vidarbha Tea Merchants Association, Virendra Yaduka, Ashok Lad, Satyanarayan Daga, Viradh Javeri, Prashant Ahirkar, Sunil Agrawal, Mahavir Mittal, Mahindra Anchaliya, Mahesh Shrivas, CA Rakesh Agrawal, Pawan Agrawal, CA Payal Vasani, CA Ashwini Saklech were also present.
