Take part in plantation drive wholeheartedly: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan during his brief halt at Dumna Airport had detailed discussions with public representatives and senior officials about preparations for extensive plantation drive to be held on Sunday. On the occasion, he appealed to people to participate in the drive in large numbers.


Chouhan along with his wife, Sadhana Singh, took a brief halt at Dumna Airport on Saturday. He reached the airport at 5.30 pm and after 10 minutes left for Amarkantak.


Collector Mahesh Chandra Choudhary informed the CM that preparations have been made to plant saplings, exceeding set target. He said people are keen to participate in the drive. Social and religious organisations, voluntary, non-government organisations, Trade and Industry organisations, Army, Defence Establishments, Central and State run departments, Municipal Corporation, JDA, Government and private educational institutions will also participate in the plantation drive. Senior BJP leaders who welcomed the Chief Minister were Dr Swati Godbole, Vinod Gontia, S K Muddin, Dr Vinod Mishra, Anchal Sonkar, Sushil Tiwari, Shiv Patel and others. Additional DGP D Sreeniwas Rao, DIG Bhagwat Singh Chouhan, SP M S Sikarwar, Municipal Commissioner Vedprakash and others were also present on the occasion.
