‘GST will be game changer for Indian economy’

JCI Orange City organised a special training session ‘GST Decoded’ covering the post implementation review recently at Chitnavis Centre, Nagpur,CA Ritesh Mehta presented the critical issues arising to various trade and industry, after implementation of GST on July 1, 2017. He deliberated on various important issues post GST implementation. He said, “It is a win-win situation for the entire country. It brings benefits to all the stakeholders of industry, Government and the consumer. It will lower the cost of goods and services as well as give a boost to the economy and make the products and services globally competitive.”

GST aims to make India a common market with common tax rates and procedures and remove the economic barriers thus paving the way for an integrated economy at the national level, he added. “GST is largely technology driven. GST is likely to improve India’s ranking in the ease of doing business index and is estimated to increase the GDP growth by 1.5 to 2 per cent,” he said.

He focussed on various issues like supply, input tax credit, place of supply, registration, reverse charge mechanism, HSN classification, transition under GST etc. The session was followed by question and answer. The session was attended by more than 150 Jc members and representatives from trade & industry.

Jc Pranav Limaja, Director M.O chaired the session, while Jc Kirti Agrawal, Project Director introduced the faculty and Jc Vishal Rathi, Project Secretary proposed the formal vote of thanks.
