Absconding Pampam held from Purnia, Bihar

Finally, police have succeeded to arrest Pampam, who is accused of making murderous attack against his landlord and decamping with ornaments and cash, total worth Rs 20 lakh. Pampam has been arrested from Purnia village in Bihar.


Pampam used to work as servant at the house of Dr Rai Madhukar Sahay. On June 13, Pampam attacked his owner Dr Rai Madhukar Sahay with a scissors and also put tap on his mouth so that he could not make noise. When Dr Sahay’s wife Dr Anjali Sahay called her husband, she got no reply. Later, she tried the mobile of servant Pampam but to no avail.
She got suspicious and rushed to home. When she reached home, she found husband Dr Sahay lying in a pool of blood and his mouth was tapped.


She removed the tap from the mouth of her husband and later told that servant Pampam attacked him with scissors and fled away with cash and jewellery which were kept in almirah.
A case was lodged against Pampam and hunt was launched to nab him. On the basis of mobile location, Madhya Pradesh police and Uttar Pradesh police tried to besiege him but he succeeded to ditch the cops by leaving behind the loot bag containing the plundered ornaments and cash, total worth Rs 20 lakh. In his hunt, cops reached till his native Purnia village in Bihar and gathered information about the accused. Cops were also in constant touch with neighbours of Pampam in Purnia.


On Thursday, Pampam was held from Purnia village and was brought to Bhopal. He was later produced before the court. Police came to know that his father had closed the doors of house for Pampam when he was spotted taking drugs with friends. Pampam had fled home by taking away cash Rs 9,000. He fled to Delhi where he started to work as labourer. He came to Bhopal through the placement agency of Delhi.
