Meeting to discuss school students’ security held

A meeting of school management for students’ security was organised at police headquarters in the State capital on Thursday. Additional Director General of Police (Crime against Women Cell) Aruna Mohan Rao held the meeting.


ADGP Aruna Mohan Rao, addressing the school management meeting, said that crime against students and their participation in crimes is a serious matter. She gave several suggestions about the security of the students. ADGP said that police verification of the employees, drivers, conductors should be made and CCTV cameras should be installed in school premises. Emergency call numbers and telephone numbers of local police station must be displayed there.


SP(Headquarters) Rajesh Singh Chandel, addressing the meeting, said that there is need to develop trust between school management and police. He gave information about the works done by police for the security of students.
Chandel said that patrolling of Nirbhaya Mobile vehicle is also being done near schools. He emphasized on making school management and parents sensitive towards checking crime against children.


Directorate of Public Instructions(DPI) Director Dhirendra Chaturvedi, giving information about the guidelines of Central Government, said that the recognized schools will have to appoint part time counsellors. Child Line Director Archana Sahay gave information about POCSO Act. Principals and teachers of different schools participated in the meeting.
