Yashoda, Bansal Hospitals tie-up

NOW, liver transplantation in city will be easy as Hyderabad’s Yashoda Hospital has tied up with city’s private Bansal Hospital. Yashoda Hospital is a prestigious hospital and is a specialised hospital for liver transplantation and other organ transplantation. Doctors’ had invited patients whose livers were transplanted and is leading a normal life.


Talking to media persons, Dr R Chandrashekhar, Executive Vice President of Yashoda Hospital, told media persons, on Thursday that after Bansal Hospital in Bhopal, the Yashoda Hospital will tie up with reputed hospitals in Indore, Raipur, Nagpur and Bangalore. “I had visited many hospitals in Bhopal last year and then found Bansal Hospital suitable for liver transplantation.


Dr S K Trivedi, Senior Cardiologist and Director at Bansal Hospital said generally 1 of 20 patients is only able to get a liver transplant. The actual requirement by conservative estimate is about 2,000 liver transplantation per year in Central India. Average 50 to 60 patients per year are from Madhya Pradesh get liver donor transplants done in various other States of the country, mainly New Delhi.


Dr P Balachandran Menon, Senior Hepatalogist and Liver Transplant Surgeon Yashoda Hospital, said liver transplantation is the most effective treatment for an acute and chronic liver disease and it is the only available treatment for the end stage live disease. The only way of increasing organ pool gave an opportunity of cure to the large number of patients from this area is by doing LDLT.
