In a major challenge posed to AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, the Marwahi Legislator Amit Jogi has asked him five questions and said that if the AICC Vice-President, who doesn’t have the guts to answers these questions, answers any of these five questions, he will renounce active politics. He asked that the AICC Vice-President who had visited Bastar some four years back and is visiting now after four years and is likely to visit again after four years, this 4 years Bastar tourism of central leaders should stop immediately.

Amit Jogi said it was the United Progressive Alliance government led by Indian National Congress, which had signed the document for disinvestment of Nagarnar Steel Plant, had signed the death warrant called Indirasagar (Polavaram) Project, which is beneficial for Andhra Pradesh but death warrant of over 2 lakh poor tribals from Bastar region. He also stated that Congress is responsible of Indravati dispute also.

Throwing his five questions on the AICC Vice-President, the Marwahi Legislator asked as to why the then United Progressive Alliance government had called global tender for disinvestment of Nagarnar Steel Plant on April 12, 2013, why the then UPA government had given its approval for privatisation of this steel plant and all these took place under the very nose of the AICC Vice-President, why was he silent then. Why the AICC Vice-President or the Congress, came upfront opposing the disinvestment of Nagarnar Steel Plant and rake up this issue during Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha sessions.

The iron ore is mined from Bastar, the land belongs to poor farmers, then why is NMDC headquartered in Hyderabad instead of Bastar. What steps the erstwhile Congress governments had done to bring the NMDC head quarters to Bastar asked Jogi. With an objective to put fear among the poor tribal population of Bastar, Congress Legislators including Chandrashekhar Manjhi, Tarachand Vahinipati, Raghuram Paral and Kailashchand Kuleshia along with local Congress office-bearers and party workers were engaged in demolishing the Joranala structure on River Indravati. What action has been taken by the AICC Vice-President against these Congress Legislators.

Amit Jogi asked the AICC Vice-President why the UPA government had sanctioned project like Indirasagar (Polavaram) Project which is only beneficial for Andhra Pradesh while it is death warrant for lakhs of tribals in Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Why step motherly treatment was meted with the people of Chhattisgarh. Why the approval for Polavaram dam was given without conducting any kind public hearing or gram sabha. He asked as to why the AICC Vice President didn’t speak about the 2 lakh Bastar tribals who will be displaced due to this project. Why Congress Legislators from Chhattisgarh didn’t support the non-government resolution against the Polavaram dam introduced by him in Chhattisgarh Assembly.

Jogi reiterating his challenge to the AICC Vice President, said if Rahul Gandhi answers any one of these above five questions, he’ll shun politics. Jogi further stated that Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi) will be protesting the visit of AICC Vice President in Jagdalpur peacefully in a democratic way. They will also create a stage for Rahul Gandhi at a suitable place in Jagdalpur and keep a chair for him, so that he can come and answer these questions. Given the stature of the AICC Vice President, if he is serious, he can even answer these questions from the main stage where he will be addressing the people. The Marwahi Legislator said the people in Bastar now want results and answers and that they are not interested in hearing his lecture or assurances.
