NGT’s two-day regional conference from today

National Green Tribunal (NGT) central region bench, Bhopal will organise a two-day regional conference from July 29. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be the chief guest on the inaugural occasion.

NGT Chairman Justice Swatantra Kumar, Central Region Member Justice Daleep Kumar and High Court Justice of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhatisgarh, judicial members, IAS officers and subject experts will participate in the conference.

Technical sessions on ‘rivers and bio-diversity conservation, ‘conservation of water bodies’ and ‘pollution and continuous development’ will be held in the regional conference. Madhya Pradesh High Court Justice Prakash Shrivastava, Padmabhushan HS Pawar, Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Khandekar, Madhya Pradesh Bio-diversity Board Member Secretary R Shrinivas Murthy and Admin Staff College, Hyderabad’s Additional Director Achlendran Reddy will participate prominently.

Rajasthan High Court Justice P S Bhati, Rajasthan Additional Chief Secretary N C Goyal, Rajasthan River-Basin Authority Chairman Ram Vedire and Rajasthan’s Additional Principal Chief Forest Conservator Dr D N Pandey will be the main speakers in water bodies conservation session.

NGT’s West Region Bench, Pune’s Member Justice UD Salvi, South Bench, Chennai’s Specialist Member P S Rao, Chhatisgarh Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Aman Singh and Chhatisgarh Environment and Housing Secretary Sanjay Shukla will participate in ‘Pollution and continuous development’ session.  A 20 minute open discussion will also be held in all the three sessions. Supreme Court Justice A K Sikri will be chief guest and Justice Arun Mishra will be guest of honour in concluding ceremony.
