CM, wife offer prayers to Maa Narmada at Amarkantak

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with his wife Sadhna Singh, performed Maa Narmada aarti on Narmada Mandir premises at Amarkantak on Sunday. He prayed to Maa Narmada to bless citizens of the State. Chief Minister, along with his wife, after performing aarti, planted saplings on Narmada Mandir premises.

On the appeal of Chief Minister Chouhan, more than 11 lakh saplings were planted on either banks of Narmada river in Anuppur. Forest, Agriculture and Panchayat Rural Development Department is making arrangement of plantation in 38 village panchayats of Pushprajgarh Janpad.
Inaugurating the mega plantation programme in Amarkantak, Chouhan said that the programme in public will be started with plantation of sapling and ‘Kanya Pujan’. Chouhan said that people in entire State are committed to increase greenery on Narmada basin and after performing pujan of Maa Narmada, they are planting saplings with enthusiasm and self motivation.

The Chief Minister said that elderly persons, children, women, youth, students, farmers, social activists, journalists, administrative officers and police personnel are planting saplings together. He said that, it is unique example of public participation and river conservation in the world. Chouhan, addressing the masses, said that trees are indispensable part of life and provide us oxygen and control temperature on Earth so every citizen should plant at least a sapling and conserve it. Chouhan also participated in plantation programme organised by Police and Sports and Youth Welfare Department.

Lions Club, Rotary Club, Jan Abhiyan Parishad, police, administration, Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Prasfutan Samiti, NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides, students belonging to colleges and schools, journalist association and South Eastern Coalfields Limited officials and employees performed their role in mega plantation programme.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Minister of State (independent charge) and Anuppur district in charge Sanjay Satyendra Pathak, MLA Ramlal Routel, Commissioner B M Sharma, Deputy Inspector General Sudhir Laud, Collector Ajay Sharma, SP Sunil Jain, Zila Panchayat CEO K V S Choudhary, Joint Commissioner Rajkumar Kori, former MLA Sudama Singh, Dilip Jaiswal, Adharam Vaishya, Ramdas Puri, Heera Singh Shyam and a large number of public representatives participated in the programme.

CM Chouhan participates in plantation programme at Chhipaner: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that we are not only serving Maa Narmada by undertaking plantation, but at the same time, we all are contributing to protect life on earth during the grand plantation programme at Chhipaner in district Sehore. He further mentioned that each person should plant at least 5 saplings and should fulfill responsibility to protect them. Chouhan said that human life will survive if trees survive. Earlier, Chouhan planted a sapling of mango in Narmada basin. Sadhna Singh, other public representatives, Sant-Mahatmas, social activists, Government officers-employees, students and villagers in large number also undertook plantation.

CM Chouhan reached Dada Dhooni Wale Ashram at Chhipaner and paid floral tribute. Former MP Satyanarayan Jatiya, Chairman Forest Development Corporation Guruprasad Sharma, Chairman Warehousing Corporation Rajendra Singh, MLAs Sudesh Rai, Ranjeet Singh Gudwan, public representatives in large number and officers were present on the occasion.
