Bhamragad villagers surrender guns

Total 13 villagers from Bhamragad taluka deposited their bharmar guns with the police. According to police, the In charge of Quick Response Team (QRT) Rajratna Khairnar and other officials had taken up a public contact campaign in several villages of Bhamragad taluka as part of community policing during Anti-Naxal Drive.


The police had given information of the Naxal Gaon Bandi scheme, Nav Jeevan scheme and other government schemes to the villagers during the campaign.
Responding positively to this campaign, the people from the most sensitive villages of Fodewada, Lashkar, Hitapadi, Moradpar and Aldansi returned the bharmar guns to the police voluntarily opposing the Naxal Week.

The villagers also narrated the trouble being faced by the Naxals during this campaign and resolved unanimously to implement the Naxal Gaobandi scheme in their villages, informed the police.


Sandeep Gawit, SDPO, Bhamragad, Sangle, Police Inspector, Datta Shelke, Hale, PSIs and other police officials were present on the occasion. Gawit guided the villagers about the disadvantages of keeping the guns.
