Sampark Kaksha inaugurated for open school students

School Education Minister Kedar Kashyap on the other day inaugurated ‘Contact Class’ (Sampark Kaksha) for students of open schools from Edu Centre of the State Council of Education and Research Training (SCERT) here. More than 100 learning centres had been uplinked with the help of Edu Centre. Kashyap called upon the students to maintain quality of education and wished them a bright future.

The Minister said that Open Schools had been introduced in the year 2009 to align the school drop outs with the mainstream of education. It gives an opportunity to any student above 14 years to appear directly for the X standard examinations. About 3 lakh students had passed the Tenth Standard examinations and joined the mainstream. The students sit directly in the Tenth class tests. The State Government had decided to conduct Contact classes through EduSet. The students can take full advantage of the new facility.

Kashyap said that new syllabus of Open Schools had been introduced last year itself. Director of SCERT Sudhir Kumar Agrawal and other senior officers were also present.
