THE Anti-Encroachment Squad of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Thursday resumed the drive on proposed link road from Railway’s fourth bridge to third bridge and removed permanent structures. The anti-encroachment squad razed a big structure apart from evacuating some houses constructed on Government land. Officials said the civic body still has to raze many encroachments mushrooming in the area. The anti-encroachment squad dismantled a building of private ITI institute erected illegally on Government land.


Later, they evacuated some houses which would be removed in a day or two. Senior officials informed that the Anti-Encroachment Department is conducting drive in the area and removing illegal structures which are coming within wideness of proposed link road. They said a large number of people have erected temporary and permanent structures on Government land and hindering construction of proposed road.


JMC has prepared a workplan to construct link road from Jabalpur Railway Station to Madan Mahal Railway Station. To execute the plan, the civic body has started the drive to dismantle encroachments obstructing construction of road

. At first the civic body is proposed to construct road from Shastri Bridge to Railway’s fourth bridge. For the same, the anti-encroachment squad is conducting drive at regular intervals. Officials said the civic body had already issued notices to people to remove illegal structures. Despite people are not responding to the notice.

Hence to clear way for construction of link road the Anti-Encroachment Department is conducting the drive and removing encroachments.
