Minister Suresh Prabhu to flag off train connecting Habibganj-Khajuraho on July 14

The most awaited train connecting Bhopal and Khajuraho would be launching on July 14. However Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu was invited to flag off the train on June 9 but due to farmer’s agitation, it was postponed.

According to sources, rake of the intercity express has ready to serve at Habibganj railway track. As visit of railway minister is being postponed for several reasons, officials have planned to start the train in local level programme. Minister Suresh Prabhu will flag off the train via video conferencing.

It may be mentioned that train was being demanded by MLAs, Central Minister Uma Bharti, Narendra Singh Tomar, Chief Minister MP Shivraj Singh Chauhan and even local people. Sources said, one sitting and one model take of the train is parked at Habibganj station yard for past six months. As train will run during day hours, sitting rake will be used. After starting this train people moving out from Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and nearby districts would be facilitated.

The train will depart Habibganj station at 7 am and will be arriving Khajuraho at 11:40. The train will pass through Bhopal, Vidisha, Ganjbasoda, Bina and Lalitpur railway stations. The train will depart Khajuraho at 6 pm and will be arriving Habibganj at 10:40. Bhopal railway Public Relation Officer (PRO) said, “Train connecting Bhopal and Khajuraho will be launching within a week. We have no official letter for launching date but expecting to start the train from July 14.”
