IG Pousharya retires, accorded hearty farewell

B P Pousharya was awarded IPS cadre in 2006 while serving in Chhattisgarh

Inspector General of Police (IG) B P Pousharya on Monday retired from service after completion of superannuation. He was given a hearty farewell in a solemn event organised at Police Head Quarter (PHQ).

Admiring the illustrious career of retiring officer, Director General of Police (DGP) A N Upadhyay said that Pousharya had served on numerous posts in integrated Madhya Pradesh and later in Chhattisgarh. Police Department will never forget his service. DGP wished him best of luck while presenting a memento. Pousharya was recruited in State Police Service (SPS) in 1983 during the undivided Madhya Pradesh and served in MP’s Lakhnadaun (Seoni), Jhabua, Raigarh, Dindori (Mandla) and Raisen districts. He was awarded the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre in 2006 while he was serving in Chhattisgarh. Pousharya was also posted as Superintendent of Police in Bijapur and Surajpur.

As an IGP, he had handled the charge of Operation Dhamtari and Jail Department whereas recently he was in PHQ and thereafter as IGP Armed Forces till his retirement.
