Gittikhadan cops nab three, recover two country-made pistols, cartridges

Gittikhadan police have arrested three youngsters and recovered two country-made pistols along with 24 live cartridges and two magazines from their possession. The arrested accused includes a B.Sc student who is native of Bihar and had came to city for selling the weapons.

The accused have been identified as Abdul Mannan Mohd Rehman (19), a resident of Bisnur, Post-Makwa, District- Munger, Bihar; Hemraj Gopichand Shende (25) and Dipak Premlal Mansure (24), both residents of Jagdish Nagar, Gittikhadan.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone II Rakesh Ola informed at a press conference that Abdul Rehman is studying in B.Sc and selling the weapons for profit of Rs 5,000. “He had brought the pistol for Rs 15,000 from Bihar and came to Nagpur by train.

According to information, Abdul brought the a pistol for Rs 15,000 and sold it to Hemraj and Dipak for Rs 20,000 each. On the same line, the accused got one cartridge for Rs 280 and sold it for Rs 350. Acting on the tip-off, team of Gittikhadan Police Station arrested Abdul from Gittikhadan locality and recovered a country-made pistol and cartridges. During interrogation, the accused revealed the names of Hemraj and Dipak.

Dipak is known as Dipak Daruwala in the area as he involved in illegal liquor business in the vicinity. He had brought the weapon from Abdul two months ago, said police.
The accused were produced in the court and the court remanded them to seven days police custody for custodial interrogation. The arrest was made by ACP Sadar Devale, Sr. PI R N Waghmare, PSI Sajid Ahmed and staff including Yuvraj Dhole and Santosh.
