National anthem in sign language launched

Arushi, in association with Department of Social Justice, Madhya Pradesh, Wecare Film Fest, and Brotherhood, Delhi, produced a video of national anthem in sign language. Amitabh Bachchan leading the persons with disabilities in this film depicted the national anthem in sign language. The concept of the film is by Satish Kapoor from Brotherhood, Music by late Adesh Shrivastava and Directed by Govind Nihlani. This initiative is taken to spread awareness in the society.

The film was formally launched by Nirmala Buch, former Chief Secretary, Govt of Madhya Pradesh and Ashok Shah, Principal Secretary, Department of Social Justice, Govt of Madhya Pradesh.
Dr Rohit Trivedi from Sarojini Naidu Govt Girls PG College was also present

during the programme. After the launch the film was shown to all present in the function of Arushi. Ashok Shah said that this is really a great initiative where everyone is standing on common platform irrespective of whether a person who can hear or not. The need for training and sensitisation of parents and teachers regarding disability was also spoken about. This has given a message that this video has removed the barrier of understanding the anthem by persons with hearing impairment.

Nirmala Buch also appreciated the initiative and said that we are all are equal and it is the right of persons with disabilities to enjoy all the aspects of life. She emphasised upon the aspects of accessibility and inclusion and how persons with disabilities are unable to do certain things or go to certain places as they are not accessible.
