KNOWLEDGE and technology will drive economic activities in future for which traders should keep themselves updated and prepared. “Traders should make proper use of technology in business”, said Shashikant Karkare, Joint Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration. He was addressing a workshop on GST jointly organised by Team CAIT, Nagpur and Food and Drug Administration with Nagpur Chillar Kirana Sangh.

He said, “Knowledge and technology is integral part of doing business and no trader can keep himself aloof from this. Now all the compliances under laws need to be done through Internet. Government is going paperless through online compliance. The country is moving forward accordingly and trader will have to walk abreast with times,” he said. In the workshop, B C Bhartia, National President of CAIT analysed the provisions of Goods and Services Tax in details.

He said that since compliances under all laws are online, all Government departments will be in position to get information about traders and their business online.

“Slowly and gradually all the traders will be linked to Government departments through PAN number and Aadhar card. This will further increase transparency,” Bhartia said.
On the occasion, deputy commissioners Milind Deshpande and Sharad Kolte, assistant commissioners Anand Mahajan and Manoj Tiwari were also present.
