Vehicle-lifters’ gang busted, nine bikes seized from three youths

Piplani police have on Wednesday nabbed a three-member gang involved in stealing two-wheelers and have recovered nine motorbikes worth Rs 4 lakhs from their possession.

SHO of Piplani Brijesh Bhargava said that during vehicle checking drive at Bharat Nagar Tiraha, three bike-borne youths who didn’t wear helmet tried to escape vehicle checking at JK road trisection on Wednesday but they were chased and detained and when questioned about the vehicle in which they were travelling, they were not able to provide the registration documents.

Three were taken to police station and they accepted to have been involved in vehicle thefts. The nabbed accused persons have been identified as Ashish Shrivastava (21) Govindpura, Manoj Rajput alias Manav (28) Bajaria and Hartaal Singh (22) of Karond.

The police detained them with bike bearing registration number MP04 MB-1821 which is Bajaj Discover and the accused confessed stealing the bike from Indrapuri area around a month ago. One Bajaj Pulsar motorbike bearing registration number MP04 SN1070 was stolen from Sultania Hospital and one Honda Activa scooter bearing registration number MP04 SN1070 was stolen from Piplani area. Later in the investigation, a total of nine stolen two-wheelers were recovered from their possession.

Out of the nine two-wheelers four were stolen from Piplani area, one from Ashoka Garden area and three from other parts of the city. During the investigation police found that Manoj has been booked by Ashoka Garden police, Lateri police in Vidisha and other police stations for burglary and stealing. He was released on bail in the month of May 2017 and started to steal vehicles with other two accused.
