IIITDM’s 9th convocation ceremony on 16th

PANDIT Dwarika Prasad Mishra, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (PDPM IIITDM) Jabalpur was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in 2005 with a manifesto to impart education on IT enabled Design and Manufacturing so as to hone the knowledge capital of the country.


The institute is being developed and nurtured under India-Japan partnership, implemented through a consortium of six universities and six industries. With the enactment of IIIT Act 2014, Institute has been declared as Institute of National Importance. This was informed by Professor Pramod Kumar Jain, Director and Chairperson Senate of PDPM IIITDM while addressing a press conference called on Friday to inform about 9th convocation ceremony of the institute to be organised on August 16.


The convocation ceremony will be organized at the newly constructed auditorium in the campus situated at Dumna Airport Road from 2 pm on August 16. Professor Jain further added that Dr. Sudhir Kumar Mishra, CEO and MD, BrahMos Aerospace and Director General (BrahMos), DRDO will grace the ninth convocation of Pandit Dwarika Prasad Mishra, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing Jabalpur as chief guest. While, Padamshree, Dr. Kota Harinarayana, Chairperson, Board of Governors of the Institute and father of Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas will preside over the function. Around 215 Bachelor of Technology degrees, 67 Master of Technology degrees, 25 Master of Design and 18 Doctor of Philosophy degrees will be conferred on the students on this occasion. Apart from this, 3 gold medals and 12 silver medals will also be awarded to the students having excellence and outstanding performance records in different disciplines and extra-curricular activities. Dr. Prabin Padhy, Dean (Academic), Dr. Pradhant Jain Dean (Students) and Swapnali Gadekar, Acting Registrar and Deputy Registrar (Academic) were also present during the conference.
