RPF, GRP on high alert to ensure passengers security

Rail Protection Force (RPF) and Government Rail Police (GRP) are on high alert for security of railway stations and passengers to avoid any untoward incident. Special checking drive is being carried out following the threatening calls to avoid existence of suspected elements at railway stations.

Inspector General of Police (RPF) and Chief Security Commissioner, R K Malik, Inspector General of Police (GRP), DP Gupta, Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF, WCR Jabalpur, Anil Bhalerao, Superintendent of Rail Police, R K Singh recently hold a combine meeting. Senior officers held discussions for better enforcement of security arrangements at railway stations and trains for safety IG, RPF and Chief Security Commissioner R K Malik informed that agencies responsible for security of railways taken a serious note on recently threatening calls. Maintaining security of railway stations and trains is a challenging task for the security forces as there are probabilities for the use of plastic explosive (PETN) which could not be trapped through metal detectors.

Senior officers have been strictly directed for strengthening search at railway stations prior to Independence Day celebration and combine drill of RPF and GRP personnel should be conducted at railway premises. RPF and GRP should avoid existence of unwanted elements at railway premises and practices of illegal vendors and other elements must be strictly restricted during the alert.
