AIIMS hospital to be fully functional in two months with efforts of Dr Nitin Nagarkar

Many senior doctors from Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) and other Government and private hospitals will join the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in city soon on the posts of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors.

It is due to efforts of Dr Nitin Nagarkar, Director, AIIMS Raipur, having additional charge of Director, Bhopal, for the last two years. For last few days, the faith of patients has increased in AIIMS and it is the reason they first think about this country’s premier medical institute for treatment. As the full-fledged hospital starts functioning, the emergency services will also be started there.
Dr Nitin Nagarkar, Director, AIIMS, said that AIIMS hospital will also be fully functional in coming two months and all faculty will in working. It will be beneficial to students and even the patients also.


“It is right that patients’ faith in AIIMS has increased in the last some months. It proves with more patients in Out Patient Department (OPD) these days. These days, number of patients in OPD are average 1200 to 1400, figures varies every day, he said.


It is learnt that AIIMS hospital had started in January 2013 and at present 27 departments are functioning and very shortly and more precisely from September 2017 after joining of new facultymembers, almost all the remaining departments would also start functioning. The delay, if any, occurred due to litigations by some persons. The offer letters have also been issued to the selected candidates. The hospital is being run with adequate paramedical staff. However, the process for recruitment of regular staff has been initiated and the same would be completed in a phased manner.

It is a matter of record that during the tenure of Dr Nitin Nagarkar, physical progress of work has increased by 15 per cent. The phase 1 building work of AIIMS will be completed in this financial year itself and for development work and phase 2 work, which is a continuous process, CPWD Bhopal is doing the
needful.
