State’s Harshita Pande attends Intl Conference to curb flesh trade

Chhattisgarh State Women Commission Chairperson Harshita Pande took part in the International Conference on illegal trafficking of women at Mumbai. Detailed deliberations were held on controlling the trafficking of girls in the country.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Pankaja Munde, CEO and Founder RGM Gowrihangan and representatives from Philippines, Kenya, Hong Kong, Thailand, Germany, Combodia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bolivia were also present.


The Women’s Commission Chairpersons and representatives of Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal, Telengana, Meghalaya, Odisha, Haryana, Assam, Andhra Pradesh were present at the conference. A consensus was arrived over preparing a national policy on illegal human (Women) trafficking in the country.

Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country to have enacted ‘Chhattisgarh Private Placement Regulation Act 2013’. The steps taken by the Chhattisgarh State were appreciated at the meet.
