Domestic articles worth Rs 2 lakh gutted

A devastating fire that broke out at a house situated under the jurisdiction of Adhartal police station gutted domestic articles worth over Rs 2 lakh at about 3 am, on Saturday. Though no casualty occurred in the incident as the house was locked during the incident, but the household goods present inside the house charred completely.

Spokesman, fire department of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) informed that one Gopichand Dahiya lives in New Ramnagar, Adhartal. At about 3.20 am some passer by saw fume billowing of the house of Dahiya. They immediately informed Fire Department about the incident. Wasting no time the department pressed as many as two fire tenders into action. Within few minutes they reached the site and saw huge flames billowing of the house. Fire fighters saw the house was locked. They broke the lock and saw the house was completely engulfed by the fire.

Domestic articles including bikes present inside the house were burning.They immediately started dousing the fire. The fire fighters had to made hard toil for an hour to control and doused the fire completely. But they could not saved the domestic articles, including two bikes and two bicycles, worth over Rs 2 lakh from reducing into ashes.
