Crime Branch arrests four, stolen jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh seized

The Crime Branch has nabbed three miscreants and one buyer and recovered silver and gold jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh from their possession on Sunday, said Rashmi Mishra, (ASP) Crime Branch Bhopal. ASP Rashmi Mishra said that acting on a tip off two miscreants were nabbed near Durga Dham temple in Ashoka Garden area and when they were trying to sell stolen jewellery and when they were frisked by police personnel valuables were found from their possession but they failed to provide details and documents of the valuables.

Later when they were quizzed they confessed that the valuables were burgled. The two were identified as Babban Singh (32) and Santosh Dagdu (36) of Harda.

They have burgled a pair of gold ear rings, a gold chain and Rs 16,000 from Nariyakheda around a month ago. Later, in the investigation they confessed burglary from Khajuri Sadak area around 45 days ago and escaped with a pair of gold ear rings, one gold nose ring and silver jewellery.

The nabbed accused confessed burglary along with Deepak Yadav (30) of slums near Patrakar Bhawan (28) and the valuables were sold to Dinesh Saakle of Rajeev Nagar slums. Based on the investigation the police nabbed Deepak near Birla temple and Dinesh from his house where the valuables were kept by Dinesh.

Babban and Santosh are habitual criminals and have been booked by MP Nagar police for burglary. Babban is a watch list criminal of MP Nagar police. A warrant each has been issued by TT Nagar and MP Nagar police for Santosh and a warrant has been issued by MP Nagar for Babban. The two were wanted in several cases and were living in Harda.
