BSP launches new e-procurement portal SRM-7

Bhilai Steel plant has launched SRM-7 (Supplier Relationship Management) e-Procurement portal recently with a publication of first limited tender for Material procurement. The formal inauguration was done jointly by K S S Kanhaiya, GM (MM) and Arun Kumar, DGM I/c (C&IT).


K.C. Misra, DGM (Purchase) gave a brief of the various aspects of SRM-7. He informed that SRM-5 has been replaced by SRM-7 with Digital Signature and encryptions facilities and will be extended to Services Procurement very soon. The imports procurement through this shall be completely a new system. At present the SRM-7 system is being launched for e-procurement through restricted tendering system. He emphasized that all the other functionalities of SRM-7 like Open Tender and Global tender shall be started in the coming
few days.


In his speech, S.K. Bhardwaj DGM (C&IT) stressed on the necessity of digital signature and encryption in e-procurement for enhancement of data security which is emphasized by CVC also. He asserted that Bhilai Steel Plant has always stood up to the expectation in all facets of integration and will continue to do so in future.


To witness this historic event, Project leads of SAP Labs India, Venkateshwara Rao Chava, Delivery Lead and Subhankar Chattopadhyay Programme Manager also shared their views on digitization and congratulated BSP for this achievement.
K S S Kanhaiya, GM (MM), acknowledged and appreciated the efforts made by Team BSP and SAP and expressed his faith in team to meet the upcoming challenges and extend technical support to end users. The programme was compeered by Samata Kumar, Sr. Manager (C & IT).
