DMC seizes shopkeepers’ display materials kept on market roads

Durg Municipal Corporation (DMC) swooped on Wednesday on 18 shops in Indira Market area on instruction of Commissioner Sundarani and recovered Rs. 19,000 penalty and then returned seized materials kept on road. Shopkeepers were warned that on repetition seized materials would not be returned.

They have been told to request customers to keep their vehicles in parking. Otherwise in cooperation with traffic department DMC will seize vehicles parked in front of shops
affecting traffic.

Displaying materials on road and parking of vehicles greatly affect traffic. Complaints are regularly received in Collector Jandarshan.
In first phase on Wednesday action was taken against 28 shopkeepers. 28 shopkeepers were conducting business by displaying materials on roads.

Assistant Engineer RK Jain, Sub Engineer RK Palia, encroachment In-charge Shiv Sharma, Market In-charge Chandrakant Sharma were present during the action.
