Congress Corporators exchange heated argument before party’s DRO

Differences cropped up between some Congress Corporators when District Returning Officer for Congress organisation poll process, Ziya Patel was holding meeting with party workers at Congress headquarters in State capital on Wednesday. Congress Corporator Yogendra Singh Chauhan ‘Guddu’ and Mohammad Sagir exchanged heated arguments before Ziya Patel and senior party leaders have to intervene to control the situation.

Sources in Congress told ‘The Hitavada’ that Corporator Mohammad Sagir said to Ziya Patel that Congress always ignores party corporators in distribution of MLAs tickets and that is the reason that it pays price every time. On the contrary, BJP leaders who were once corporators are now MLAs and even minister. Another Congress Corporator Yogendra Singh Chouhan ‘Guddu’ tried to stop him by telling it was not the proper platform to raise the voice over MLA ticket issue and said that Wednesday’s meeting was in connection with party organisation election process.

This irked Mohammad Sageer and he lost his cool and exchanged heated arguments with Yogendra Singh Chouhan. Chouhan said to him that there was no need to dig the old graves before Ziya Patel and Sageer should instead speak on the organisation election process.

Later, Ziya Patel conducted joint meeting of district and Congress office-bearers of party organisation and party workers over organisation election process. Ziya Patel took suggestions from party workers regarding organisation election and also did one to one meeting with them.

On this occasion, Mahila Congress State President Mandhvi Chouhan, former Bhopal Municipal Corporation Chairman Kailash Mishra, former Mayor Vibha Patel, former Mayor Sunil Sood etc were present. Ziya Patel will also meet party workers at Congress headquarters on Thursday as well. Notably, organisation election process is underway in Congress. In organisation elections, Congress will elect new office-bearers of the organisation, including State President.
