Staff Reporter,

No let up in swine flu deaths in city, two more swine flu patients died in city, on Tuesday and the total figure of swine flu deaths has reached 13 from July 1 to August 29. A 6-year-old child of Sagar district admitted in city’s private hospital died during treatment of swine flu. Another swine flu patient, aged 40 from Rajgarh district, admitted at Hamidia Hospital, died. The city might be on the top of swine flu deaths in the State. Reason is that many swine flu patients came from other parts of the State for treatment in city.

On Monday, 25 samples of swine flu suspected patients were sent. Of them, 12 samples were tested. Of these, 9 samples tested negative and test report of 14 swine flu samples is awaited. Three samples tested positive. Of them, 2 swine flu patients whose samples tested positive are local, while 1 is from Vidisha.

Considering fast spreading swine flu in city and the State, the Government has issued advisory not to shake hands with others as the climate changes, giving conducive atmosphere to the swine flu virus and it is the reason why there are more swine flu suspected patients at the Government and private hospitals for checkup. Senior health officers think that awareness of swine flu among public should be more to control the swine flu.
