3 city youths on K2K bike ride

There are umpteen ways to support a good cause and different people have varied ways to exhibit their support for the cause.

Three youngsters of the city have set out on a bike ride to raise awareness for organ donation. The trio of Ankit Shrivastava, Prashant Meena and Vivek Yadav is all set for K2K Kashmir to Kanyakumari motorcycle ride for the cause of organ donation. They are doing this as volunteers of the Bhopal Organ Donation Society in association with Life Insurance Corporation (LIC).


The ride will start on August 12, 2017 from Indore and will end tentatively on September 10, 2017. Ankit Shrivastava is a graphic designer from Bhopal, Prashant Meena is an employee at Indore Municipal Corporation and Vivek Yadav is a foreign trade analyser and a theatre artist hailing from Indore.


The ride will cover 11 states of Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and four Union Territories.

The ride would be around 10,000 km journey of awareness with few pauses at schools and institutions where the awareness talks will be delivered on organ donation and the pledge forms and blood donation forms will be distributed to people who are willing to donate or who are ready to volunteer for the same cause.

The trio will also meet the organ donor families during their journey. They will also travel to Kargil on August 15 and will distribute happiness gift boxes as a mark of respect for the valour and dedication our armed forces exhibit towards the nation.

Ankit Srivastava said, “People can be a part of this humanitarian ride and can send gifts, which will be delivered to the soldiers. It is for a good cause and we are happy to be a part of it. We will be delivering girfthe soldiers gifts from all over the country, which will be a great experience.”
