Laudable gesture: Women tie rakhis to Metro Rail workers

This ‘Rakshabandhan’ festival turned out to be a very special occasion for the workers of Nagpur Metro as women of orange city tied Rakhi on their hands to celebrate the festival in a very unique way.

These workers are on the job from dawn to dusk to complete the work of ambitious Nagpur Metro project in the city. They are from different villages, districts and states working in Nagpur to complete the project. Naturally, most of them are unable to celebrate festival in absence of their families. Therefore, a section of the women of the orange city have decided to tie rakhi on their hand to celebrate this festival in a special way.

The programme was organised at Metro Centre, Kasturchand Park on Sunday morning. The labourers of all four reach were present in the function. Metro Security consultant Arvind Giri, PRO Sunil Tiwari, Gandhibag Zone Chairperson Sumedha Deshpande, Beti Bachao Beti Padao programme convenor Manisha Kashikar, corporator Shraddha Pathak and others were present.
