Staff Reporter,

A large number of anganwadi activists and assistants on Raksha Bandhan festival gathered and demonstrated for their demands in front of CM House on Monday. They gathered at CM House to tie Rakhi to CM and to hand over memorandum for their demands.

Anganwadi activists, in their memorandum in the name of Chief Minister, said that on the day of Raksha Bandhan, they wanted to inform about their plight as they are being given honorarium that is insufficient to fulfill basic needs of their families.

They demanded regularisation, gratuity, pension, provident fund, travelling allowance, 100 per cent appointment of anganwadi activists on the vacant posts of supervisors, separate honorarium for work of other departments, functioning of anganwadi centres according to timing of Government schools and holiday on the declared Government holidays.
