Chirayu programme records success, brings smile on face of this little girl

The Chirayu programme for health care of little children in the state being run under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has recorded a fresh success in form of smile on the face of little girl.

Senik Ram, who lives at Dorde village in Naxal violence affected Kanker district, is father of a 3-year old girl child Ahimita, who had cleft lips since childhood. She experienced difficulty in speaking and eating. Doctors of the state health department and ‘Chirayu’ team identified the girl child and got her treated surgically in a major hospital.

The child now gives smiles and her parents have expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister. Under the Chirayu programme, health check-up of children is being done at schools and Anganwadi centres.

Children who need special treatment are being identified and arrangements are being made for better treatment. In Kanker , health check-ups of near about 2,31,000 children have been done at 2339 schools and 2050 Anganwadi centres.

Near about 56,000 children were identified as to be in need of one or the other medical treatment and the same was provided to them. Near about 156 children were identified in the cleft lip condition and they have undergone plastic surgery in a major private hospital of Raipur, with the cooperation of state health department.
