Three-member committee of V-Cs chaired by Minister Pandey will decide fees of students in private colleges

Decision on already delayed students’ union election in the universities and colleges of Chhattisgarh will be taken
within four-five days.

A unanimous decision of all Vice-Chancellors of all
government universities in the State will decide the future of
students’ union election this year after State Higher and Technical Education Minister Prem Prakash Pandey, on Tuesday, put the ball in their court. Chairing a meeting of the Vice-Chancellors, Pandey asked them to take a call on the students’ union election which is already got delayed.

The Vice-Chancellors sought a time period of three-four days to take a decision on the election and submit their report to the State Government.

Reviewing the work of the universities, the minister held discussion with the vice chancellors regarding difference of marking in private and government colleges and universities.
Minister Pandey expressed shock over higher marks being secured in private colleges while government college students
are scoring comparatively lower percentage.

The Minister was informed that a three-member committee of vice chancellors has been formed and mark will be given on the basis of the report of the committee that comprises PRSU Vice-Chancellor Professor S K Pandey, Bilaspur University Vice-Chancellor G D Sharma and Durg University Vice-Chancellor N P Dixit. Besides three-member committee headed by the Minister will decide the fees of students in private colleges, said Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education, Sunil Kujur.
