Collector warns Revenue officials

Collector Mahesh Chandra Choudhary has given warning to the officials and employees of Revenue Department to work for enhancing public image of the department in team and to act sensitively in redressing the public grievances and applications. He said the government is giving priority in settlement of revenue cases in time bound period it is the responsibility of the field staff of the department that they should perform as per expectation of the general public and government by giving attention on correcting their working culture and should emphasize on establishing good governance.

Collector was addressing the rural areas Patwari, Revenue Inspectors, Nayab Tehsildars and Sub Divisional Officers in a meting. The meeting was attended by Additional Collector, Chote Singh and Additional Collector, Anand Kopriha.

Expressing concern on public perception about Revenue Department he says people considered that without paying money under the table no work could be done. He said it is a blot on the name of department. And to clear its right from Patwari to senior officials every one has to bring change in their working. We have to develop clean and transparent system to public. He specially directed Patwari and RI to remain in contact with rural. And also directed to maintain distance from middlemen.

Collector, Choudhary clearly asked the officials that complaints regarding bribe or corruption would be taken seriously. He asked the Patwaris and RIs that why against them maximum complaints of demand for bribe are being registered and they are being caught red-handed. Whey they are not filing complaint against the person offering them bribe. He asked to initiate drive against people tries to mount pressure on field staff or offers bribe. Against such elements proper complaint should be filed and first be filed in Jabalpur.

He said when two three complaints were registered then image of department would automatically emerge as good department. Collector added that as per wish of Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan the cases related to name transfer, partition, delimitation and other undisputed cases should be resolved by November 15. For this public declaration should be made at village level. Every resolved revenue case should be uploaded in RCMS Portal compulsorily. He asked SDO (Revenue) to initiated action of termination, suspension of Patwaris and RIs against whom cases of corruption has been filed.

He asked officials to ensure proper arrangement of drinking water, seating and electricity in revenue department offices. He also directed for selection of land for construction of new office of Sub Tehsil in Katangi, Bargi, Barela, Charagwan and Belkheda.
