INCREASING political rivalries in trade unions is vulnerable to suppress their demand of stopping privatisation and development of Ordnance Factories. Instead of ensuring contribution in development of Ordnance Factories (OF), trade union leaders seem busy in their political conflicts.

For the first time in history of trade unions in Ordnance Factories its leaders overlooked their strength and started combating for their vested political interests. Keeping aside the core issue of fighting against defence production privatisation trade union leaders started conflicting for their political gains in their respective organisations.

In a recent instance, All India Defence Employees Federation (AIDEF) declared new body of Labour Union at Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK) that faced resentment by existing office-bearers.
Similarly, clash between leaders of two trade unions of AIDEF and Bharatiya Pratiraksha Mazdoor Sangh (BPMS) at Vehicle Factory Jabalpur (VFJ) revealed the fact of their united efforts for protection of the factory.

AIDEF National President S N Pathak informed that the Federation has declared new body of Ordnance Factory Khamaria Labour Union. It is domain of federation to authenticate fresh appointments in any body. He advised disappointed leaders to be united to strengthen the Federation and stand for welfare of employees. Bharatiya Pratiraksha Mazdoor Sangh (BPMS) National President Narendra Tiwari expressed his disappointment over the clash between trade union leaders at VFJ. He informed that leaders of both the unions were counselled to keep aside their political interests for desired development of VFJ.

Notwithstanding the fact that Ordnance Factories are facing several challenges after losing monopoly of supplying defence equipment to national security forces due to increasing private participation.
Internal clashes of trade union leaders are vulnerable to disturb industrial relations in Ordnance Factories to sidetrack its production works.
