Six JMC projects bag national awards

Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has once again achieved national-level recognition as six of its big projects bagged national awards during a programme held in New Delhi, on Saturday. Union Urban Development Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan and Chairman SKOCH Group, Sameer Kochhar presented the awards to JMC officials.

Executive Engineer Kamlesh Shrivastava, Assistant Engineer Sunil Dubey and Ankita Gupta of JCTSL received prestigious awards. As per information, the civic body has been awarded for Solid Waste Management (Processing and Disposal), Solid Waste Management (Collection and Transportation), Slum Rehabilitation under Rajiv Awas Yojana, role of community toilets to make Jabalpur open defecation free (ODF) city and operation and maintenance of Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) (two awards). Mayor Dr Swati Godbole has expressed happiness on receiving awards and said efforts to take the city to newer heights will continue.

Municipal Commissioner Vedprakash gave the credit of awards to JMC officials. As many as 4,000 entries were received from across the country for the awards. Out of total 4,000 entries, 800 were chosen for presentation in Mumbai in July last. Later, 50 departments, including municipal corporations, were selected for SKOCH Award. Jabalpur Municipal Corporation and Dewas Municipal Corporation are two civic bodies of Madhya Pradesh, which have been given national-level award.
