One more death due to swine flu in city

One more death due to swine flu was recorded in city and now, the total deaths of swine flu patients in city has crossed the figure of 18. Many swine flu patients are under treatment at private and Government hospitals. However, of them, 3 patients were discharged. Female swine flu patient age 27, died at Saudit Hospital in city, on Sunday. All these 18 deaths of swine flu patients are in just 70 days in city. The condition of other districts is also not good, but more deaths of swine flu patients are said to have been recorded in city.


However, Sunday being Government holiday, no samples of swine flu patients were sent to virology lab for testing. Of remaining 4 samples sent on Saturday, 2 samples tested positive. Of them, one is local and another is from District Vidisha. Sometimes, the private hospitals collect samples of swine flu suspected patients on Government holidays also, but send it to the office of Chief Medical & Health Officer (CMHO) on the next working day.


On Sunday, neither any sample of chikungunya patient was sent to the selected Government pathology labs or any test report of it is received by the office of CMHO. According to Dr Sudhir Jesani, Chief Medical & Health Officer, one female patient, aged 27 died of swine flu at Sauditi Hospital in city. While two samples of swine flu patients tested positive. No test of chikungunya samples was done.
