Two nabbed for trying to molest minor girl

Dial 100 police have nabbed two miscreants, who tried to abduct and molest a minor girl, granddaughter of a retired IPS officer, at her residence in E-2 Arera Colony and recovered a van from their possession on Saturday, said SP (South) Siddharth Bahuguna, while speaking to the mediapersons at Habibganj police station on Sunday.


According to the SP Bahuguna, the minor victim was at home when the accused came and tried to molest her, but she raised alarm and accused were nabbed by the neighbours and in the meantime, her mother too returned home. The nabbed accused were identified as Shoukin Nath (20) and Brijesh Nath (20) of Dhar district. The duo were earlier arrested by police in Haryana in connection of loot and molestation cases. Both the accused were on Sunday presented in the court and were taken on two days police remand for quizzing.


A complaint was lodged with the Habibganj police, stating that on Saturday afternoon, the 11-year-old minor girl, student of St Xavier’s School was present at her house with her younger brother. Victim’s mother had gone to nearby private hospital for treatment of father-in-law, who is a retired IPS officer.


At around 2:30 pm, one of the accused came wearing woman’s clothes and asked the victim to write her wish in a dairy on the pretext of fulfilling the wish. Later, he asked her to spread turmeric powder and rice in the house and for spreading turmeric powder, he went into the bedroom, where he tried to molest the victim, after which, sensing his bad intentions, she raised alarm and informed her mother, who immediately informed Dial 100 and on the receipt of the information, FRV rushed to the spot and nabbed the miscreant.


Two miscreants were nabbed by the police, one of whom went inside the house while the other was standing outside near van in which the two came. Police said Shoukin posed as astrologer and lured the victim on the pretext of helping her in problems. The details of the two would be investigated in the further investigation.


At the time of the incident, victim’s mother was at hospital to take care of her ailing father-in-law at Fracture Hospital, where she received the information and informed the police.
On Sunday, DIG Bhopal Santosh Kumar Singh presented a cash reward of Rs 3,000 and certificates for the good work to Head Constable Mahendra Uike and Constable Durgesh Baghele, who acted promptly and nabbed the accused.
