Farmers, Sena activists take to streets for their demands

THOUSANDS of Shiv Sena activists came to streets on Monday demanding loan waiver to farmers before Dussehra festival. Large number of farmers participated in the morchas taken out in Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal and Wardha. In Amravati,Shiv Sena activists along with farmers led by Anand Adsul, MP, took out a morcha on the Collectorate demanding loan waiver before Dussehra.

The morcha was called as per instructions from Uddhav Thackeray, Shiv Sena Executive President. The activists and farmers from the district gathered here at Irwin Square and marched towards the Collectorate.They raised various slogans and saffron flags. Adelegationled by Anand Adsul presented memorandum to AbhijeetBangar,DistrictCollector. Thememorandumstatedthatthe farmers are angry since they did notgetanybenefitsofloandespite the announcement. Government is deliberately delaying the loan waiverbycreatingtechnicalproblems for farmers, it is alleged in thememorandum.Thenotsoeducated farmers and tribals from Chikhaldara and Dharni tehsils arefacingseriousproblemsinsubmittingonlineforms.

Manyfarmersarefacingproblemsastheiraadhar cards are notlinkedwiththeir cell phone numbers. The government’sonlinesystemraised questionmarks wether it wants toprovide loan waiver or not. Farmers are not getting fresh crop loan as their loanwaiverdepends oncertainterms and condition and as a result the loan taken by farmers from nationalisesd banks and District Central Bank is very less. Manyfarmersdidn’tgettheadvance loanofRs10,000asdeclaredbythe government for sowing purpose.

Therefore,ShivSenahasdemanded to provide loan waiver to the farmers before Dussehra festival for facilitating the farmers to executesowingoperationinRabi season.The activists alsohave threatened to stage agitation if their demand is not fulfilled. Sanjay Band, former MLA and also the District President of Shiv Sena, Prashant Wankhade, Corporator and also District President of Shiv Sena, Rajesh Wankhade, District President, S andothersparticipated in the morcha. In Akola, large number of Shivsainiks reached the Collectoratewitha memoradum to solve farmers'problems atthe earliest. The prime issue raised bytheactivistswasdelayanddifficulties insubmitting theonline applications for loan waiver. Shivsainiks assembled at the Jijau Hall in Ramdas Peth.

The morchareachedCollectorateat12 pm. Their demands were loan waiver before September 20, to declare Akola district as droughtaffected, regularising 64 village water supply scheme and quick paymentsagainsttheturpurchase are the demands of the activists. Gopikisan Bajoriya, Shrirang Pinjarkar, District Chief Nitin Deshmukhledthemorcha.Deputy District Chief Gopal Datkar Balapur Chief Sanjay Shelke Bandubhau Dhore mobilised the activists for the agitation.

In Wardha, the district unit of Shiv Sena took out morcha for total complete loanwaivertothe farmers and submitted a memorandum to the district collector in this regard. Under the leadership of seniorleader and district contact Chief Ashok Shinde and DistrictChiefNileshDeshmukh, the Shivsainiks stagedmorcha in the city for the implementation ofloanwaiverprocesstothefarmers and submitted a memorandum to Shailesh Naval, District Collector.

InYavatmal,Shiv Sena activists took out amorchaonteCollector’s office.

They demanded total loan waivertofarmersbeforeDussehra, compensationforcroplossdueto poor rains etc. Shrikant Munginwar,formerMLA,Rajendra Gaikwad, Deputy District Chief, Shridhar Mohod, ZP member, ParagPingle,CityPresident,ledthe morcha. The morcha passed throughvariousstreetsofthetown andconcludedattheCollectorate. A memorandum addressed to the CM was submitted to Collector.
