Minister Bisen inspects damaged crops in villages of Seoni distt

In a major relief for farmers in village Bandol, Kuklaha, Kalarbanki, Bheemgarg, Sunwra Majhgav and Kahani, Minister for Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Gaurishankar Bisen carried out inspection of agriculture fields affected by adverse weather. Reportedly majority of crops in the villages have been seriously damaged due to scanty rainfall and after being infected by insects.


According to information, in view of scheduled visit to take stock of damaged crop, Minister Bisen and officers from administration carried out inspection of crops badly affected in villages, Bandol, Kuklaha, Kalarbanki, Bheemgarg, Sunwra Majhgav and Kahani. He inspected the damaged crops and while interacting with farmers, he assured that the State Government has taken cognizance of the scanty rainfall in several parts of the State. “The State Government will not allow the burden of damaged crop to fall on farmers and would shoulder the damage caused to farmers. Financial assistance from the government would be given to farmers along with insurance amount under norms of RBC6-4 even if the crops were insured by farmers.”


He expressed his anguish on the damaged condition of crops and assured that the State Government would put optimum efforts to provide assistance to farmers affected by crops. The minister, in course of talks held with affected farmers, encouraged them to opt for alternate mode of farming or go in for animal husbandry, fisheries and other agriculture works. This would decrease their dependence on traditional farming, he added.
