Start third party audit of cement roads, demands Janmanch

JANMANCH- a social organisation has demanded to immediately conduct third party auditof Cement roads in the city. It may be mentioned that Janmanch had conducted the public audit of the cement roads in the city and found several lapses in the construction work.

In a tersely worded reminder letter to Municipal Commissioner Ashwin Mudal, Janmanch President Adv Anil Kilorremindedhim to expedite theprocessof appointment of an agency with their consultation to carry out third party audit of the cement roads in Nagpur.

It may be mentioned that in a meeting of Janmanch office-bearers with Union Minister for Road, Transport and Shipping Nitin Gadkari, he had assured the delegation of Janmanch to conduct third party audit of the cement roads.

Municipal Commissioner was present in that meeting. Gadkari directed Commissioner toappointagencyinconsultation with the organisation. However, NMC did not take any action in the matter. Even Commissioner did not take any cognizance of the reminder. Kilor alleged that NMC has not only shown disregard to publicsentiments but also disobeyed the directives of the Union Minister.

He warned Commissioner that if a third party agency is not appointed within a month,Janmanch will be compelled to again undertake technical public audi to fall cement roads in Nagpur, including inspection of core cutting samples.
