Continue to crack whip on people who place temporary structures along main roads and hinder traffic movement, the anti-encroachment department of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC), on Monday removed a number of temporary structures mushrooming on roads surrounding Home Science College.
The anti-encroachment squad removed kiosks, handcarts, sheds and other such structures, which got erected by the shopkeepers on the roads.

Senior officials of the department informed that the anti-encroachment squad removed a large number of temporary structures and also seized kiosks from roads adjoining Home Science College. They said the department would continue the drive and ensure that people would not face problem due to encroachments.

Officials informed that the main route from Bloom Square to Madan Mahal, especially the roads branching out from the main road to adjoining colonies were mushrooming with illegal temporary structures.

The encroachments had narrowed the wideness of the roads and were hampering vehicular movement. Hence to rid people of encroachments, the anti-encroachment department conducted the drive and removed dozens of temporary structures including kiosks, handcarts, makeshift shops, sheds etc.

Senior officials said they are conducting the drive constantly and removing encroachments from city streets. Officials said soon the department would conduct special drive and would challan erring shopkeepers and fine them heavily for encroaching roads and hindering traffic movement.
