Sports also necessary along with studies: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that present education system has tethered youths in such a manner that under the weight of school bags, they forget to play. Studies are necessary but along with studies, sports are also necessary.

Chouhan was addressing the inauguration programme of State-level competition organised under “Khelega Madhya Pradesh-Khelega Bharat” campaign of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJYM) at TT Nagar Stadium on Tuesday. He stressed that for overall development, games are also necessary. He urged youths to move in direction of sports along with school studies. Henceforth, one period of games will be made compulsory in schools.

Congratulating BJYM for organising sports activities, he told that BJYM has promoted the traditional sports of India. He appealed sports persons to move ahead and achieve new achievements.

In the concluding session of programme, BJP State President Nandkumar Singh Chouhan met players and said BJYM worked to provide platform to sports talents of far flung areas of state. In his welcome speech, BJYM State President Abhilash Pandey told that Morcha will work to find the sports talent in rural areas. He informed that under “Khelega Madhya Pradesh-Khelega Bharat” campaign, sports activitie’s were organised at 9800 places of state. On This occasion, Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia, MLA Surendra Nath Singh, BJP Spokesperson Rahul Kothari etc were present.
