MIA conducts workshop on GST to resolve issues of its members

MIA and Department of CGST and CX - Division 1, Hingna Nagpur conducted a workshop on Goods and Srevices tax at MIA House in MIDC Hingna. The workshop was organised to resolve various issues and problems encountered by MIA member post implementation of the GST and more so after filing of first GST return filed on due date.


Power-point presentation was made by master trainers from the department Prashant Warkar and S J Rayalu. They explained the participants how to file returns under GST-R 1, GST-R 2 and GST-R 3.
GST-R 1 is a statement of outward supplies to registered dealer, details of outward-interstate to supplies, details of zero rated supplies, details of nil rated/exempted/non GST supplies. The officials also spoke on amendments to earlier entries.


In GST-R 2, details of inward supplies auto populated from GST-R 1 furnished by suppliers, registered person has only to accept, reject, modify or keep the transaction pending (supply not received). Registered person can add invoice details if he is in possession of invoices but supplier failed to enter details.


Warkar and Rayalu also elaborated on the details of inward supplies on which tax is to be paid on reverse charge, supplies received from registered supplier, unregistered suppliers or import of service, amendments, composition, exempt, nil rate and non GST.


Rayalu further elaborated on GST-R 3, which is the return generated by system based on GST-R 1 and GST-R 2 and has two parts. Part A requires the details of turnover, outward supplies, inward supply attracting reverse charge, input tax credit, additional return of tax, total tax liability, credit of TDS and TCS, interest liability and late fee. Part B is regarding discharge of liability, tax payable and paid, wherein registered person has to debit or credit / cash ledger, calculation of interest, late fee and other amount, refund claim from cash ledger based on the above entries. Details of payments will be auto populated.


The workshop was held under the supervision of C G Shegaonkar, Secretary of MIA, and was attended by more than 150 entrepreneurs and their representatives. Earlier Captain C M Randhir, President of MIA, welcomed Dr Pinky Baskey, Assistant Commissioner - CGST & CX Division1 Hingna by presenting him a bouquet of flowers while Sachin Jain Additional Secretary, welcomed master trainers - Warkar and Rayalu. Shegaonakar proposed a vote of thanks.
