Sharad faction removes Nitish from party president’s post

NEW DELHI,

THE Sharad Yadav faction of Janata Dal (United) on Sunday removed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from the post of party’s president and appointed senior Gujarat party leader Chhotu Bhai Vasava as its working president.


The suspended leader from Nitish-led JD(U) party, Arun Srivastava on Sunday informed that the senior party leaders on Sunday met here. Nineteen State presidents of the outfit and other members of the executive took part in the meeting in which it was decided to render all decisions previously taken by Nitish Kumar as party President as ‘invalid’.


Srivastava informed about the appointment of Gujarat party legislator Vasava as the new working party president in place of removed Kumar. He also told about party’s plans to meet the Election Commissioner on Monday in connection with the allotment of election symbol to the party and to seek time to
submit relevant documents in this regard.
